This cost actually goes to the premiums of those insured. You are also missing another factor; insurance companies DO NOT provide medical care. They just skim profits off the top. Furthermore, healthcare is rationed in this country more than anywhere else in the developed world. Preventive care is rationed only to those who can afford it.
