Are liberals confused about what a progressive society is?

The United States constitution is progress away from old dictatorial governments that did not respect the sovereignty of the individual. Everything modern liberals advocate tramples the rights of the individual and empowers the political cl over us, coming closer and closer to exactly what the U.S. was originally progressing away from.
