What is the ruling concerning hiding skaters in the goal cage?

In games 1 and 2, detroit had 5 skaters and 1 goalie in net any time the pens got a scoring chance. at one point in game 2, a detroit player dove into the net, hid in the cage, and then swept a puck out of the crease with his hand. is this against the rules? i thought that only the goalie could make a save with his glove.
