How do you feel about this case of stockholm syndronme?
One point you didn't say, but I suspect is true is that she did not have the option to leave. If she was indeed trapped, she knew she only had him to depend upon for her survival. He would provide her food, her lodging, and all of her needs. With that kind of dependence on another person, it seems fairly natural that you would fall in love with them if they were not harming you. I do think it is a variation of the Stockholm syndrome. Interesting sociological question! Think of having an outside dog. He has the run of the neighborhood, but he will return again and again to the family who feeds him...
